Specializing in IV sedation, implants, and cosmetics, Dr. Carlen is committed to helping his patients achieve their dream smile. Dr. Carlen loves dentistry because it allows him to create lasting relationships with patients while improving their oral health.

He is a current member of the American Dental Association and New Mexico State Dental Association. Dr. Carlen is originally from Logan, Utah. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Chemistry from Utah State University. He then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious Creighton University School of Dentistry.

After dental school, Dr. Carlen furthered his education by completing the Advanced General Dentistry Residency at Idaho State University. During residency, he was able to obtain advanced training in all areas of dentistry including implant dentistry, oral and IV sedation, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and cosmetics.

When he isn’t serving his patients, Dr. Carlen loves spending time with his beautiful wife and their three children. Together, they enjoy athletics, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, and spending time with friends and family. They are happy to be a part of the Alamogordo community.
